Rugby World Cup 2023 France : how to get to the stadium ?

To get to OL Stadium for the Rugby World Cup 2023 match between New Zealand and Uruguay, on Thursday, October 5th at 9:00 PM, and, between France and Italy, on Friday, October 6yh at 9:00 PM, here are some practical information and tips :

Access and Parking

It’s essential to plan your visit and make reservations in advance to access OL Stadium. Reserve a ticket that will be mandatory for all supporters arriving by car (on-site and park-and-ride), motorcycles, or public transport.

Dedicated shuttle buses and trams are in operation. They will take you directly to the stadium in under 20 minutes, costing €5 per person for a round trip.

  • Departures from « Lyon Part-Dieu Villette Sud. »
  • Departures from « Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie. »
  • Shuttle buses and trams are also available from the park-and-ride locations « Meyzieu les Panettes » and « Eurexpo » (see below under « By Car »).

Before 6:00 PM, it’s recommended to use the TCL tramway (T7, stop « Décines OL Vallée ») with regular fares.

Car – Park-and-Ride : Parking in the park and ride areas and shuttle rides to the stadium (journey: approximately 15 minutes) – €5 per person (driver or passenger, return trip included)

  •  « Meyzieu Les Panettes » : Parking opens at 5:30 PM, with the first shuttle buses and trams departing at 6:00 PM.
  • « Eurexpo » : Parking opens at 5:30 PM, with the first shuttle buses departing at 6:00 PM.


Car – Stadium Parking : SOLD OUT (no on-site sales).


Motorcycle – Stadium Parking : Parking on stadium lots – €5 per vehicle (no on-site sales).


Bus – Stadium Parking : Parking on lots near OL Stadium – €350 per vehicle (no on-site sales).

Free bicycle parking is available near the northwest ramp.

A Vélo’V station is located in front of the bicycle parking.

An RV parking area is available at 15 rue Pré Gaudry, 69007 Lyon, from Saturday, September 23, 11 AM, until Saturday, October 7, 11 AM. This parking offer is reserved for ticket holders for the Rugby World Cup 2023, and for matches taking place at OL Stadium. Please note that no service offer is associated with this parking.

Schedule

5:00 PM: Stadium parking opens

5:30 PM: Park-and-ride parking opens at Meyzieu les Panettes and Eurexpo

6:00 PM: Stadium entertainment opens

6:00 PM: First departures of shuttle buses (Panettes, Eurexpo, and La Soie) and tramway shuttles (Part-Dieu, La Soie, and Panettes). T7 service stops.

7:00 PM: Gates open

9:00 PM: Kick-off of the New Zealand vs. Uruguay match and France vs. Italy match

After the match: First departures of tramway and bus shuttles from the stadium

0:45 AM: Last departures of bus and tramway shuttles from the stadium

01:30 AM: Closure of park-and-ride parking at Meyzieu les Panettes and Eurexpo

Practical Tips

✔️ Plan your visit in advance and reserve an access ticket to save time on match day.

✔️ Arrive as early as possible on match day to access the stadium easily and enjoy the entertainment.

✔️ Travel light! Large bags and backpacks are not allowed at OL Stadium.
